Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Obscura's website and services. By engaging us you agree to them.

What we provide

Obscura assesses damaging online content and, where a lawful route exists, pursues its removal or de-indexing through platform policy, DMCA, formal legal notices coordinated with counsel, or the right to be forgotten — and, where removal is not possible, lawful suppression. The scope of any engagement is set out in the written proposal you receive after your confidential review.

What we do not promise

We do not and cannot guarantee that any specific item will be removed or de-indexed. Outcomes depend on the facts of the case, the policies of third-party platforms, and the decisions of search engines and courts. We do not remove truthful journalism, genuine public records, or protected opinion, and any provider guaranteeing this is misrepresenting the law.

Lawful use only

You confirm that you have a legitimate basis to seek removal of the content in question and that your request is not an attempt to suppress information that is true and in the public interest, to conceal wrongdoing, or to harass a third party. We decline cases that ask us to remove accurate reporting on matters of genuine public concern, and we never file forged or fraudulent notices.

Fees & payment

The confidential review is free. Paid work is billed at the fee stated in your written proposal. We do not take upfront crypto-only payments with no recourse, and we do not auto-renew a retainer without notifying you. Fees cover the work performed; they are not contingent on an outcome we cannot control unless your proposal expressly says so.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Obscura's liability arising from the services is limited to the fees you paid for the affected engagement. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for the acts of the third-party platforms, registrars, and courts to which requests are submitted.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Questions can be sent to [email protected].
